Before the beginning of the spring 2010 semester, students in Villanova’s Social Justice Documentary class were informed that they would be making a film about Frank Kineavy and Nick Gaynor, two students with cerebral palsy who are managers of the Villanova men’s and women’s basketball teams. Although it was an undergraduate class, it was run like a professional production company and each person in the class was given a role within the making of the film. Over the course of the 15 week semester, the students created a 26 minute film that was screened around the country and submitted to film festivals.
